Why Night Crew exists

AI coding agents now work for minutes or hours on their own. Your Mac doesn’t know that. It sleeps on its normal timer, or when you close the lid, and the agent stops halfway through the job.

Night Crew started as a fix for the maker’s own Mac. In the week before 27 October 2026, it slept 86 times, and 15 to 23 of those sleeps cut into a Claude Code run that was still working.

Keeping a Mac awake all the time fixes that, but it wastes battery and makes heat. Night Crew keeps the Mac awake only while an agent is working, and lets it sleep the moment the work is done.
